How the math works
A worked example, so you can explain the numbers:
Look up the benchmark
Unmodified FortiGate logs cut 50–75% in measured VisiCore work. Use 50% to stay conservative.
Do the volume math
Say FortiGate sends 500 GB/day in a 2 TB/day environment. A 50% cut removes 250 GB/day. That drops total volume by about 12.5%.
Turn volume into dollars
Measured work converts volume cuts to bill cuts at a 0.5–1.0 ratio. So a 12.5% volume drop takes about 6–12% off the bill. On a $1M yearly spend, that is $62,500–$125,000 back per year — before the rest of the environment is even scanned.
